A steel ribbon running across the heart of Eurasia, the Trans-Siberian Railway offers one of the world’s great overland journeys. Discover the vast, mysterious expanse of Russia aboard this legendary route, where cities, forests, mountains, and endless steppe unfold in a continuous panorama.

Spanning the immense breadth of Russia, the journey reveals shifting landscapes and cultures as it crosses time zones and terrain on an extraordinary scale. From the edge of Europe to the far reaches of Siberia, travellers witness a country defined by vast distances and dramatic contrasts.

At the centre of this iconic route lies the Trans-Siberian Railway itself, a monumental feat of engineering and endurance that connects distant regions through an uninterrupted thread of steel. Trans-Siberian Railway carries passengers through dense taiga forests, across frozen rivers, and past remote settlements where life moves at a different rhythm.

More than just a journey, it is an immersion into scale and solitude—an ever-changing window into one of the most enigmatic and expansive landscapes on Earth.

[ HIGHLIGHTS ]

Visit Lake Baikal, the world’s oldest and deepest freshwater lake, where crystalline waters shelter unique endemic species such as the translucent golomyanka fish. Framed by rugged taiga and remote wilderness, Lake Baikal offers an extraordinary encounter with one of Earth’s most ancient and ecologically distinctive ecosystems.

Further south, in the sweeping expanse of the Gobi Desert, one of the most important paleontological discoveries of the 20th century was made. In the 1920s, explorer Roy Chapman Andrews unearthed the world’s first fossilised dinosaur eggs in southern Mongolia. This groundbreaking find transformed scientific understanding of prehistoric life and established the region as a key site in the study of ancient fauna.

Exploring Trans-Siberia

  • Today, the same landscapes invite adventure and exploration. Guided hikes and Bactrian camel journeys traverse vast steppe and desert terrain, through habitats shared by elusive snow leopards, ibex, and lammergeiers—some of the most iconic species of the high Asian wilderness.

    The legendary Trans-Siberian route unfolds in two principal journeys. One stretches from Moscow eastward across the entirety of Russia to Vladivostok, a Pacific port city near the borders of China and North Korea. The other continues south into Mongolia, culminating in Ulaanbaatar, the nation’s capital and cultural centre.

    Together, these routes form one of the world’s great overland passages—linking continents, climates, and deep histories through a continuous thread of rail, wilderness, and discovery.
