The family adventures are designed around relaxed, gentler explorations, where the journey itself becomes a shared learning experience.     Special care is taken in designing the tour by keeping in mind the needs of parents and children alike. Ibex takes into account the age group, physical fitness and details of health and safety. If on an activity tour, we would provide equipment for children sizes and additional staff would accompany the tour, keeping a higher ratio, thus ensuring safety and minimizing risk and interpreting and understanding the local culture and nature effectively.

With a culture and history stretching back centuries, India stands as a living tapestry of some of the world’s most remarkable archaeological wonders.

Ibex curates special archaeological journeys across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and other regions of the country, offering access to ancient Harappan sites, formidable forts, ornate palaces, and sacred Hindu temples. These explorations may include the historic towns of Junagadh and Palitana, the temple complexes of Khajuraho and Hampi, and the magnificent frescoed caves of Ajanta and Ellora — each revealing a different layer of India’s extraordinary past.

  • Visits to archaeological museums take visitors through the excavation process and exhibits many of the weapons and cooking utensils found at sites as well as some of the larger statues taken from the Shiva and Vishnu temples. In Khajuraho, the museum contains some exquisite carvings and sculptures recovered by archaeologists.
    Some of the highlights are to walk through small, rural Indian villages where many of the houses are mud-walled with packed-earth floors. Most of the prized family possessions add to the cultural experience for travelers.

A culinary tour offers a distinctive way of exploring the country, moving through regions of India with meaningful encounters in both cities and villages, connected by the common thread of cuisine. Here, food is experienced not only as nourishment, but as culture, tradition, and expression — much like any other art or social practice

This unusual journey takes you to the heart of India — the central state of Madhya Pradesh. You visit Maheshwar, a town steeped in heritage and home to one of India’s finest handloom weaving traditions. Your base is the charming Ahilya Fort, set on the banks of the sacred Narmada River.

Here, you glimpse an untouched rural India where time seems to stand still — a landscape of quiet rhythms, enduring crafts, and timeless riverine beauty.

  • You swap the countryside for wilderness via a night in the capital city of the state – Bhopal.

    Next you visit one of India’s finest national parks – Satpura.  Here game drives in jeeps or boats enthral you as you view India’s rich natural legacy up-close. The park is the only one of its kind in Central India where you can traverse pristine tiger country on foot which we call “Satpura under the canvas”.
