AWARDS

The ‘Citation of Merit‘ by the Explorers Club, USA was awarded to mountaineer & explorer, Mandip Singh Soin for his outstanding work in mountaineering, notably for an unmatched spirit of adventure and exploration spanning six continents. He was the first Indian to receive this award on 21 March 2015 at the 111th Explorers Club Annual Dinner at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.

On the 29th of August 2012, His Excellency, The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, awarded the Arjuna award of Adventure called the ‘Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award’ for Lifetime Achievement to Mandip Singh Soin FRGS. He becomes the first person in the Indian Tourism industry to receive India’s highest civilian honour in the field of adventure.

The National Tourism Awards of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India serve to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the Indian travel and tourism industry. Ibex Expeditions was honoured by the President of India at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, on 29th February 2012 as the ‘Most Innovative Tour Operator‘ of India.

National Geographic Adventure magazine 2009 rated Ibex Expeditions amongst ‘Best Adventure Travel Companies On Earth’ with a 93.80% rating score for Education, Sustainability, Quality of Service, Spirit of Adventure and Client Satisfaction. And the only Indian tourism company in the category of ‘One Country Wonders‘.

Award of Excellence 2002 by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India for being India’s most eco friendly tourism organisation received in New Delhi by The Tourism Minister, Mr Jagmohan recognising outstanding performance.

World Travel Market Environmental Company Award 2000 received in London, UK during the World Travel market by Chairman, Fiona Jeffrey recognising Ibex Expeditions as a company that has the best environment policy and actions.

Green Globe Distinction Award 1999 for Outstanding Environmental Achievements received in Berlin, Germany signifying better environmental performance, improved community interactions and savings through more efficient use of resources.

PATA Gold Award 1999 for Green Leaf Environmental Education Programs received at the PATA Conference in Nagoya, Japan for initiating an Environmental pledge with an open audit system by clients. These awards recognise exceptional achievement in a variety of endeavours with winning projects setting industry standards of excellence and innovation.

PATA Asia Discovery Award 1998recognising new and unique tours presented to Ibex for new and unique product development initiatives. Awarded for the development of Ice trek on the frozen River Zanskar in the remote Himalaya by the PATA CEO, Joe McInerny at the PATA Chapters Meeting in Nepal.

Pacific Asia Travel Writers Association Award 1998 received at the World Travel Market in London to honour entrepreneurs who make an invaluable contribution in the tourism & hospitality industry. The members adhere to the Fundamental Principles of the United Nations, UNESCO and the World Tourism Organisation (WTO).
